THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN Performs First Song Of Pomona Show Without Singer GREG PUCIATO

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN performed the first song of its August 11, 2010 concert at the Pomona, California stop of the Vans Warped Tour without lead singer Greg Puciato, who wasn't able to make it to the show in time. An audience member was chosen to handle vocal duties for the track "Panasonic Youth", with Greg taking over for the remainder of the set.

Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal of MetalAssault.com spoke with THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN guitarist Ben Weinman shortly after the Pomona show and asked Ben what happened to cause Greg to miss the opening song of the band's set. "[Greg] lives not too far from here, so last night he went home," Weinman replied, "That's always a recipe for disaster. When you go home, you don't come back. (laughs) So he was just late, stuck in traffic."

Regarding THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's decision to get a "random guy" up on stage to fill in for Greg for the first song, Weinman said, "Yeah, we figured why not. We've got to play regardless, so let's give this guy a chance to do his thing and play on Warped Tour. (laughs)"
